Profile and History


The NotreDame Intermédica Group (GNDI) is one of Brazil’s largest healthcare operators, with nearly 4.9 million beneficiaries. It is recognized for its pioneering efforts in Preventive Medicine and for offering the best solutions in health and dental care.

The Company went public in 2018 and is listed in the Novo Mercado segment of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (B3) under the ticker GNDI3, and distributes quarterly dividends to shareholders.

Founded in 1968 and headquartered in São Paulo, its service structure includes 20 hospitals, 75 clinics, 10 preventive medicine units and 20 outpatient emergency units, all of them owned and managed by it, located in the states of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, in addition to a vast accredited network of health and dental clinics with other 16,000 accredited dentists.

In addition to São Paulo, it has branches in the cities of Campinas, Jundiaí, Santos, Sorocaba and Rio de Janeiro. One of its core precepts is excellence in the management of healthcare services based on the best reception and safety of patients.


  • 2018

    IPO on the São Paulo Stock Exchange (B3) and subsequent acquisition of Hospital Cruzeiro do Sul, in the city of Osasco, by which it acquired a hospital, 5 clinics, two emergency rooms, one clinical laboratory and over 50,000 beneficiaries, strengthening the presence of GNDI’s own network in the city and the region. In October 2018, the Company completed the acquisition of the Samed Group, incorporating 80,000 lives into its structure, a bed general hospital with 102 beds, 3 clinical centers and a clinical analysis processing laboratory. Also in 2018, the verticalization strategy was reinforced with the launch of the NotreLabs brand, which aims to provide clinical analysis services to the beneficiaries of our products, taking advantage of the existing diagnostic medicine structure in several of the acquired assets over the last years. , thus increasing the number of examinations performed within the Company's own network.

  • 2017

    In March 2017, it acquired Hospital Samci, a pediatric hospital, which became the first hospital asset acquired by the Company in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and two clinics in the district of Tijuca, laying the groundwork for structuring its own service network in the state of Rio de Janeiro. In April 2017, the Company acquired Hospital São Bernardo and Hospital Baeta Neves, both in the city of São Bernardo do Campo, which strengthened GNDI’s own network, especially in the ABC Paulista region. In May 2017, the Company inaugurated the Hospital and Maternity Guarulhos, which boasts a modern structure and excellent location in the city of Guarulhos to serve beneficiaries of private healthcare plans in the city and neighboring regions. The Unit has an installed capacity for 129 beds. In July 2017, the Company acquired Hospital Nova Vida de Itapevi, which consists of a hospital, 5 clinics and an emergency room.

  • 2016

    In December 2016, the Company also acquired the operating assets, which included a hospital, five clinics, two 24-hour emergency service units and a portfolio of approximately 57,000 lives from the work cooperative Unimed do ABC – Cooperativa de Trabalho Médico (“Unimed ABC"), in the ABC Paulista region of São Paulo.

  • 2015

    In 2015, the Group invested over R$140 million in the renovation of clinics and hospitals in its own network. The same year, it acquired the Santamália Saúde Group, one of the largest healthcare operators in the ABC Paulista region of São Paulo, including the Hospitals Bosque da Saúde and Montemagno, 17 clinics and around 240,000 beneficiaries, in November and the Hospital Family, a hospital of reference in Taboão da Serra, in December.

  • 2014

    U.S. investment group Bain Capital acquires 100% stake in the NotreDame Intermédica Group and implements a new management model that focuses on higher investments, as well as innovation and technology. This management contributed significantly to the Group’s strategic position as one of the sector leaders, to achieving excellence in customer service and to the development of an integral healthcare management model based on innovative corporate governance practices in Brazil’s healthcare market.

  • 2009

    The Company acquires the portfolios of the healthcare plans of Medicamp and started managing Hospital Renascença in Campinas.

  • 1999

    Acquisition of Hospital Modelo in Sorocaba.

  • 1998

    As part of the strategic vertical integration plan, the Company made several acquisitions throughout its history. In 1998, Hospital Paulo Sacramento in Jundiaí, São Paulo, was acquired.

  • 1982

    Implementation of a comprehensive preventive medicine program that collaborated with the vertically integrated model.

  • 1972

    The year was a milestone in the pursuit of continuous and sustainable growth, with the inauguration of the first own clinic.

  • 1968

    Dr. Paulo Sérgio Barbanti founds Intermédica Sistema de Saúde.
